We're looking for some help in finding a site (all we need is EHU) within 30 mins of the cross channel ferry terminal at Portsmouth. We have an 8.30am crossing and am after a site we can leave between 6.30-7am. I've tried the CC site Rooksbury but its full

Please dont stay at southsea leisure park, having lived in Portsmouth for many years i couldnt recommend this place, it really is unpleasant.
What about treating yourselves to a night in at the holiday in at Portsmouth Quays. It really is lovely there, nice walks, food, shopping, cathedral, we always stop off for at least a day before we set off for the land of wine and cheese.
Sorry cant help with campsites as wasnt into camping then.

You could always stop overnight at the ferry terminal. There is plenty of room before the check-in. Most 'vans and motorhomes park at the far left as you enter. There are toilets available at the terminal, although, obviously, no EHU.
Q14. Can we arrive the night before an early crossing and camp out at the Port?
The Port does allow passengers to stay overnight if they wish to board an early-morning ferry. However, overnight camping/sleeping in the terminal building is not permitted as the building is closed between midnight and 0530 hrs for cleaning. Passengers wishing to stay with their vehicle overnight are required to arrive after 2200 hrs and must park in one of the far lanes of the Passenger Car Waiting Area.
we've booked a little site at Titchfield, Fareham called Drove Lea Farm. Its only £8 for the night (plus electric) and only 20 mins from the ferry terminal. Looks very easy to find off the M27 Junction 9. I found it on the CC or the C&CC's website. Looks like theres a pub called the Fishermans Rest (anyone been? is it any good?) a couple of hundred metres down the lane too so thats our evening meal sorted. Theres no loos/showers but all we wanted was electricity to keep the fridge cold. Emailed the site last night and got a reply first thing this morning.
Claire, the Holiday Inn is no good with a caravan .

I know you're sorted now but for anyone that's reading, quite often when the CC sites are full online they have spaces if you ring them direct and speak to the warden. They did this for us when we went to the New Forest in June.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
