In a bid to try and locate a perect campsite for me and my family to visit next year I have been doing a lot of review reading. Also reading recent posts the campsite Nantcol has been mentioned and when I read the reviews on this wesbite it's voted in the Top 5 sites by Cotswold Outdoor. Which got me thinking, Is there a 'Perfect' campsite and if so what is yours?
ps. I know that perfection is very subjectional.
------------- Corfe Castle - June '12
Greenhills - July '12
Undecided - Aug/Sep '12
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Sorry, but firstly no children. Then no road noise.
Back to nature sites do it for me. BBQ and camp fires prefered, but only in moderation. No bonfires. (Trust me I've seen some). Nice views (Lake District would do) Basic faclities are fine, I don't require huge toilet/shower blocks. For it to be quiet after eleven PM through to eight AM. I expect people to be out and about before then, but not playing football and shouting at each other from one end of the camp site to the other. I don't mind children, although I never was one myself. I was born a grumpy old man.
So to sum up, peace and quiet with nice views.
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

As the parent of 3, I have to agree with you. My perfect campsite is an Adults only with just me and the mrs and peace and quiet. I enjoy family camping too, but perfection is being a just a couple now and again.

Cool campers use Delta Pegs.
The happiest people aren't the ones who have everything they are the ones who make the most of everything they have
Lovely views.
Clean facilities. (Don't mind basic)
Very quiet after 11pm to 8am.
When we are the only ones on site - perfection.
Preferably out of school holidays.
No bars/entertainment.

------------- Wish I could go camping more and not have to work for a living!!!
Family friendly, good entertainment and facilties, decent play park for the kids and great location. Two of our faves for these reasons are Haven Greenacres at Porthmadog and Hoburne Bashley Park.
Mine would be heated shower rooms & pitches in a circle with a play park for the kiddies in the middle. I have 5 kids & always tell them to keep the noise down & be respectful of neighbouring campers. I totally understand though why some would want adult only sites. Last week we came back from a site near Exeter ( it's not on here he doesn't advertise) & we couldn't believe that some parents were letting their kids carry on the way they were in the park. They were singing the same song about farts over & over again really loudly. Even my kids were telling them to shut up! They're parents were setting up tents & totally ignoring them as if they couldn't hear them. Even though they were just metres away! I love hearing kids playing & having fun but these kids were just damn right rude.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
