bought second hand off ebay £77 and it looks brand new. Aparently only ever used 3 times.
Couple of things I'd like to run past you here.
Seller said there was no essembly instructions, says everything is color coded.
2 questions if I may:
1)is it true that I do not need instructions to put the tent up. (I have never put a tent up of this size before) I couldn't find them online
2)where close to Newcastle upon tyne would be a decent location to take the wife and 3 kids for a trial? Looking to have a good first experience...If they have a bad experience (dirty facilities etc...) it might put them off camping altogether.
Thanks for your help and suggestions,
Popcornn

The few lines of instructions that I had for my Royal Avignon were rubbish and made no sense whatsoever. The instructions were a little booklet that had a few lines for all the Royal Tents. Deeply unimpressive. After a trial pitch I had worked it all out for myself and I have never used any tent instructions since.
The one thing I implore you to do is to put it up before you go away, when you are not pushed for time. Take your time and don't get frustrated. Remember how you put it away too! this will make your first trip away so much easier.
The instructions on tents are normally useless anyway tbh so you are best off trying it out before you go. I would do anyway even if you had used the tent before just to check that it is ok. If you have rods I would lie them next to each other and you will see length differences and or different colour schemes which will hint as to where they go and you just have to be logical about where each rod goes. I would write it down too (we always think that we will remember but every year......). It normally takes people a long time to put the tent up the first couple of times and as long as you both just relax and dont fall out then you will be fine.
have a look at the reviews on here for campsites - they are normally quite accurate and trip advisor is useful too. It depends what you are looking for - quiet countryside with just the basic facilities or more of a holiday park style. There are some camping and caravanning club sites I think which are normally clean (and you can check their reviews).
Thanks Labourgirl & TEFKAS, that is great advice. I have just been back on the forum pasting another question. This is a GREAT forum the advice we are getting is taking all the guesswork out of things.
Best wishes,
