Can't say I've ever been bothered by loud music at any of the sites I've used in that area, but all are likely to be busy during the next few weeks with the potential for some noise from less considerate campers, and most are within earshot of the Swanage Railway's steam locomotive whistles!

I don't imagine the Camping and Caravanning Club's Corfe Castle site tolerating late evening or early morning noise, and Norden Farm, having its own "pooch parlour", might be considered the most dog friendly, though most sites in the area will accept dogs.

In all the years I have been camping, much of it in the Dorset/Swanage area, I have only been subjected to loud music on two occasions. The first time was actually in the Somerset area and the second time was only a couple of weeks ago at a site in Dorset. Both were during daylight hours and not after dark.

I think, therefore, that being unlucky enough to be within earshot of an inconsiderate camper who likes to share his choice of music with the rest of the campsite is rare.

Unfortunately, and judging by a few other threads that have appeared lately, noise from inconsiderate campers seems to be on the increase. I hope that these are part of the sudden increase in inexperienced new campers who are not yet familiar with campsite etiquette or how far noise travels in the countryside and that as they gain experience (and suffer complaints) they will settle down.

As already mentioned, all the sites near Swanage/Corfe Castle are usually well run and quiet but unfortunately there will very occasionally be someone who doesn't play the game.
