Hi there,

I'm relatively new to the camping world, and have been camping a couple of times at Castlerigg Farm in Keswick. My partner and I love the lake district (particularly keswick) and were wondering if anybody could recommend different camp sites for us to try in the lakes?

Hello Debbie

We found a lovely site near Ullswater a few years back. It was called The Quite Site.
We went Monday to Friday and it was lovely and peaceful. It did get a bit busier Friday.

They have a lovely little bar. We use to pop in there most evenings and have a chat with fellow campers.
To top it all I saw my only ever Red Squirrel.
There was also a pub just down the road which did nice food and good ale.

We used to camp at the Quiet Site but their prices increased dramatically 2 or 3 years ago.

There are loads of sites in the Keswick area, have a look at the Campsite Search and read the reviews.

I can highly recommend either of the National Trust campsites in the Lake District - Great Langdale or Wasdale Head

just been to lanefoot farm, 5 mins from keswick in thornthwaite. great site. highly recommended.

We've also enjoyed stays at The Quiet Site and Langdale NT site. Langdale is a little more remote, but 3 good pubs within 10minutes walk and amazing views!
