There are only two reviews for Leeford Farm riverside campsite in North Devon. Has anyone got any further info on it. Am going to take friends who are new to camping and so want it to be a good experience. Or can anyone recommend a site for our four families.

Stowford Meadows  - plenty to do although have to drive to get to a beach.North Morte Farm superb coastal views - some pitches sloping - adjacent coastal path - short walk to Mortehoe and Three!!! good pubs. Easewell Farm Park nice camping area getting a bit choked with "Static" tourers - nice Clubhouse - good walks - has it's own golf course.Damage Barton C & C C Site super views across Bristol Channel to Wales.

Oh and Warcombe  Farm Caravan Park - fairly new site but well laid out - and has own fishing pond.

Most of the above listed here

Hi Mincepies,

We stayed with 3 other families at Warcombe Park in July and had a super time. Great play area for the children, very clean and tidy site and the toilet/washing up facilities are extremely good (underfloor heating, huge showers with plenty of shelves for towels etc in the cubicle) and they even have a family bathroom!

If you have dogs too there is an enormous dog-walking field with paths mown through what will be a wood in a number of years.

I've stayed at Watermouth Valley campsite twice now - can't book ahead if staying less than a week but my very first camping experience with just my two kids was there. Out of all the campsites we've visited so far, this is their favourite.

The upper pitches have fabulous views of the sea although a mild trek to the facilities. Great adventure playground for the kids. Short drive to Ilfracombe and Coombe Haven.

I would 2nd Watermouth Valley (be aware, there are quite a few sites in Watermouth).  We've stayed a couple of times here, and had great fun.

We've been with new campers and in a group of 5 families with 10 children between us.  All have had a superb time.

You are right on the coastal path, you can walk to a little harbour and the site has a fabulous shallow stream which runs through the play area.[/P

I third Watermouth Valley Campsite too, stayed there beginning of July. Great for the kids and plenty to do in the surrounding area.

Stowford Meadows  is ideal if you have kids as it has an indoor pool.  It's a large site though (but not a haven style park), located in rural countryside with a drive to the beach.

Warcombe Farm (woolacombe) would be my second choice.  You can choose several types of pitches to suit you.

Thanks for ideas. Watermouth Valley sounds quite good, but the website says it is busy in the summer hols, so looking for somewhere a little bit quieter. May try it out of season. Not really bothered by facilities other than showers, but sapce for a group and maybe a little bit of a rounders game or cricket with the kids. Any more suggestions? If weather in West poor next week may head South Coast, so same question again?
