Hi All, were looking ahead at next year and we fancy going back to the isle of wight but this time camping, we went many years ago but in a caravan, what were wanting is ....
Nice size pitches not too cramped in, a little bit of shelter not too open to the winds (if possible), EHU, either playground, stream, farm just a bit of something for the kids to do on site, toilet/shower block,
------------- camping and loving it.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Its another vote for Whitefield Forest. We spent a week there in June and had a brilliant time. The pitches are nice and big and the adventure playpark is great and situated undercover in the woods. If its raining (hopefully not) they stay dry and also keeps them out of the sun for a bit.
We had such a great time that we have already booked to back again next June for a week - cant wait

Thank you everyone there's some good choices there. The water mill looks very nice . I'll have a look at them during the day. Which is the best ferry to get to the island? we've only used Red Funnel and enjoyed it. We're coming from up north so not bothered where we sail from.
Thanks again
Andy

When you decide on your site try asking if they book the ferry for you as they can usually get it cheaper than you can.
Don't know about the water mill but I know appulculdrombe do.
I have to go with The Orchards. Its inland, but everywhere inland isnt far from the sea on the Isle, after all !! Its very quiet, lovely views, two pools ( one in, one outside ), games room, playground. We take our touring caravan there, but they welcome tents, and the pitches are of a good size ( to accommodate the ever increasing size of the tents !). If you are after a good deal, then book via www.redfunnel.co.uk They do 5 night breaks, and the ferry return crossing ( Southampton to East Cowes ) is included, and it is really good value.
we are going to the IOW next year. We are saving Tesco vouchers as you can exchange £10 in tesco vouchers for £30 in ferry vouchers this is for Whitelink ferries from Portsmouth. We have looked at the cost and all we will have to pay after changing £40 in club card vouchers is about £20 for a MPV with a top box 2A 2C and a dog for 10 days. Its very good value doing that way.
