Try ringing the site direct, quite often with both clubs you get a different response to what the website says, when we use the CC it pretty much always shows as full for weekends but if we ring the site directly we always get in.
Where did you end up booking in the Lakes in the end? We're going up there on the 2nd sept for a week, staying at Troutbeck head CC site.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We've tried this before with the C&CC club sites. The website will not allow 1 night bookings at weekends, however if you ring the site the site manager has the authority to override that.
I think it just depends on how busy the site is expecting to be.

Will give them a ring, thanks!
We're splitting our 12 days between Keswick C & CC site plus another stay at Park Coppice CC site and plan to tour the area hopefully by bus/boat and where the MH will take us (road width dependant!!)
What a shame, you come back when we go otherwise we could have had a German Shepherd meeting!
You can often book one night but sometimes the minimum is two. EG if you want EHU and/or hardstanding you can book one night except for Fridays and Saturdays when you need to book two nights or for any stay in high season. If we want to book for one night on a Fri or Sat we book a Standard pitch and then pay for the EHU when we get there if there is one available. Full explanation is on page 48 of the Big Sites Book.

Thankyou Evenstephen I will give the site a ring. Haven't got my book yet as I only joined last week.
I was a bit rushed last night when I answered this so might not have explained it as well as the Big Sites Book does. This is exactly what is written in the book:
"When you must book at least two nights
With the exception of Derwentwater and Keswick, if you book in advance:
• You can book a grass-only pitch (without an electric hook-up or hardstanding) for a single night unless it's high season or an English Bank Holiday, when you must book two nights.
• You can book a pitch with an electric hook-up, a hardstanding or both for a single night unless the booking includes a Friday or Saturday night, is during high season or covers an English Bank Holiday, when you will need to book at least two nights."
(For Derwentwater and Keswick the minimum booked stay if five or three nights depending on the time of year.)
Once you get your head around it it's easy to follow. As we try to avoid high season and bank holidays and always want EHU for us all I need to remember is that a one night Friday or Saturday stay can't be booked.
By the way, the Caravan Club don't have any restrictions like this - you can book for one night all the time - so often for our Friday or Saturday one stays I head for a CC site.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
