Can anyone help? A couple of year's ago on an August bank holiday we decided to go to Whitby for the day as the wife had never been.  As it was a bank holiday car's were bumper to bumper as we got to the end of the motorway and proceeded up the dual carrigeway.  We decided to set the sat-nav to A roads and turned off the dual carriage, we travelled along lovely scenic country roads and then got to a point where the fields for as far as the eye could see were full of what we think were lavender fields. Can anyone help and tell us where we may have been and if you know, is there a campsite near as we would love to go back to see them again.

It wasnt just purple heather on the moors was it, theres a lot around  Whitby area.

Theres also Yorkshire Lavender, Terrington, and the one mentioned above. Plenty of campsites in area.
