Not done many camping trips. had a tent for around three years and done around three trips on weekends in mid to high season.  Have Monday and Tuesday off so decided to have them two days away.

My question is are all sites still open and will they be like ghost towns as i would have imagined most people will be packing up and going home when we are actualy arriving. Looking for somewhere in East or North Yorks too.

Lol what i meant as site like a ghost town was i hope we are not the sole tent on the site and everything is closed up with just maitenance men on site clearing up. but yes for a quite site. We made our decision late last week as the weather looks to be a lot better than the torrential rain we have had of late and we thought sites will be rammed with it being the last bank hol and we would like a quite relaxing two days just me the wife and Son aged 8 to have a few walks a pub meal and general change of scenery or and we are hoping to purchase a new tent just going to the camp store now as the Vango Icruss 600 has caught our eye.

Until this year I mostly camped before mid July and after the kids go back to school in September and have never found campsites to be like ghost towns. Having said that, I usually camped at weekends not mid-week.

I started camping mid-week this year in order to get away from the crowds and even that hasn't worked much

We have camped for about the last 6 years over the Aug B/H, usually sites empty on the Mon - one year we were the only tent left for the night, slept really well!!

This year because the kids don't go back to school til 7th Sept we decided to go later and are packing up now ready to leave on Tues, staying at The Inside Park til sat.

Have a  feeling that a few more people than usual might be doing the same??
