We are hiring a motorhome from Monday and I wondered if we had to pre book each site along our route or if we can just turn up.
We have it for 3 days and plan on touring the Pembrokeshire coast. We don't really want to commit to anywhere then find its too far or too close to the previous place.

you should be ok to just turn up at this time of year and with the kids at school ,, you can plan your tour and sites on the search facility on here, plus the sites phone no details and address will be on the details , to phone ahead , nothing worse than being turned away ,, and a handy feature is the 20 mile radius search , have a nice time ,,
As said by steveiem, it should be ok not to pre book this time of year, have a great time, the weather is due to be lovely, though you might get a sea breeze on the coast!
We've just come back from a tour in our motorhome. I found it much nicer driving around and deciding on the site on the day rather than prebooking. We did prebook some sites and found we lost out because some sites we didn't like and left early, so it suited us better to decide when we arrived at a certain area/site that we wanted to stay there.
i'm with chelsea girl on that , that for me and wildcamping was the whole point of getting a motorhome , the entire freedom to just have a look round wherever i fancied , then staying as long as i liked ,, and to just turn away from somewhere i didn't like the look of and not have to worry about wasting time somewhere i wasn't keen to stay at , bliss ,,
we used to go with out booking ,usualy lucky .now we book . but at this time of year you will be o k , But it is nice to drive in a place and see it for your self ,... glyn

I think you should be OK., but if you enjoy it and decide to go during ther October Half Term, then book for the H.T. - it will be a busy week. The last big week before Christmas.
