Mmm.... Why is it that open all year sites seem to be more prolific in the midlands and the north of England?  Hubby and I like geocaching and, as such, take out van away in the winter for the weekend as well.  We cannot shower in the van due to age and the fact that the shower trya has split.  We also have a 'no number two' rule for the van LOL so need EHU, Shower and toilets.  I have a choice of about erm...2 with good reviews and both are not the best as we have visited them before.

We live in the Porsmouth area so any suggestions would go down a treat.  We only travel for a maximum of 1 hour if it is just a weekend away as it can get too dark on arrival.

We have Rookesbury Park caravan club site very close but it closes at the end of October even though the toilets are heated and they have many hard standings - why is this???

Moan over and happy camping - looks like Sunnydale Farm (southampton) again from the end of the month!!!

How far from Portsmouth do you want to travel?

I will be watching this with interest as I am trying to find somewhere around that area to go.
So far all I have found is Sandy Balls campsite - Im just hopping its quiet and for £66 for two nights in Nov it had better be clean!!

Hi Zoe - Sandy Balls is a very commercialised campsite with lots or club activities going on - not too sure I'd like the idea of paying that much though??

Where are you from Zoe?

Sharian, here's a link to Little Paddock's UKCS listing.

Steve's link shows sites which are open all year and have toilets, showers and hookup, as you specified.

You can tick other boxes to narrow down your choice, and if you like, move the blue marker and change the radius, then click on a possible site for more details and (probably) reviews.

Oh Zoe - don't get me started - geocaching is a treasure hunt game played thoughout the world using GPS signals.  Theer is even a Geocahing app for I-phones  Basically you and kiddies are looking for hidden treasure by way of ammo or tupperware boxes hidden in the countyside.  Our grown uo children love it and so does our grandaughter aged 2.5 LOL  www.geocaching.com pop in your post code and see how many are hidden around where you live - I think you will be surprised!!!  We've even cached in Egypt!

Little Paddock wasn't adult only last year  when we went - sorry :(  I'll have a think and let you know!

If you go to the listing open all year and scroll right down to near the bottom, past the ones in France and Germany, you come to the South of England, and South West, plenty there to choose from.
