Sue

a colleague of mine goes to a temporary holiday site in a field next to the airshow. They go into the show for one day and spend the other day just watching the air displays from the site.

I'll ask for more details next week and let you know which DA or Centre it is with.

There are normally a couple of sites spring up. I believe both the big clubs have temporary sites either on or near the camp itself for the weekend. There is also one in the village on the sports ground but I don't know who runs that one. You will also find one or two in fields further down the A607. Not to mention the odd CL/CS in the vicinity. The Airshow website  also has information on campsites .

Hi Betty, I have stayed at Barn Farm adjacent to the runway for 3 years. It is open from the Thursday through to Sunday but for a charge a stay til Monday to watch aircraft leave is an option.

The site facilities are very basic but adequate to get by and not bad for the cost. I went into the show on the Saturdays and spent until early afternoon on the Sunday watching from the van. (or tent) A vintage bus takes you right from the fence gate to the heart of the action.

The best bit about turning up on the Thursday is missing all the horrendous traffic.

Hope you enjoy the show.

Some pictures I took are on here (to give you a clue) including a few of the site area.
