have you looked at the Woolacombe bay group, four parks. Golden coast, Woolacoombe, twitchen house and Easewell farm. GC and W are the big two parks, with Twitchen house and Easewell being quieter. But you can use facilities on all parks. Prices for the big two and Twitchen are similar, appox 290- 300 but easewell is cheaper. 9 nights in aug for under £240, but the snag is to get those prices you have to pay in full NOW
they look good - but the pay now I just wont do, just incase! you never know being this far away what might come up

Im afraid if you want to holiday in August you will find its expensive everywhere, Even Tregarton Park. If at all possible go any other time, and you will find it a LOT cheaper, and quieter.
Agree.
If you want Devon/Cornwall in peak time and you want a site with bells & whistles you won't get anything cheap I'm afraid unless you go for a very basic site (field with a shower block!)
I know you're in a tent but have you looked at Hillhead CC site near Brixham? They do accept tents and it's a top site with outdoor pool, bar, restaurant with entertainment in high season, huge recreation area for play and a playground with pirate ship. Close to all Torbay/Dartmouth attractions of the South Devon coast. Not sure what the cost is in Summer though!

my reasoning too, was so pleased as thought I'd cracked finding a site, only to find if we didn't pay in full now, it was about 100 more. Even if you paid the depoist and the full balance before 30 Nov, you didn't save as much.
Also there's no way can pay in full just before xmas with the kids birthday to cater for as well..
Ho hum back to drawing board again LOL

We have always recommended Cofton but their prices have gone through the roof including £5 a night for a dog which will no doubt go up next year to pay for the new swimming pool.
Have just told them after 8 years we will not be back next year and the reason.
Hi Folks, may we humbly suggest you consider Budemeadows Touring park - Main summer prices - £36/night for 2 adults and 2 children with 16 Amp hook-up (£38 for a tent 7M or larger).
We offer a heated outdoor pool, bar, shop, takeaway and a large childrens playground
Hi we have a wierd glitch with the contact form on our website - it looses the email the first time you send it, if you try again it seems to work OK. If you tried to contact us last night we didn't get your enquiry please use the e-mail link on our website or the enquiry link from.
It depends on compromise here, IMHO. If you want an all singing/dancing site in Cornwall in high season, then you will be charged for it. The options seem to be: to go to a different area, or to narrow down the facilities you really do want on site. There are cheaper sites in Cornwall that are really lovely with well kept immaculate facilites that are cheaper, but they are the ones without swimming pools and football fields.
I know I've said it many times before, but Globe Vale takes some beating, in my opinion. It has no swimming pool or football pitch. The owner, Paul (great chap) reckons balancing up the cost of installing nad maintaining a pool (and the land he would 'loose') in view that they have the biggest swimming pool just on their doorstep (i.e. the sea), for them it's not a priority. If a site owner has to put aside a field as a football pitch, then that's space he can't use for camping units, therefore a site owner would need to put prices up.
The Cornish camping/caravanning, because of it's location,. I reckon is shorter than more accessible areas of the UK, therefore they have to make 'hay while the sun shines' (or not) - so to speak.
Just for information, last summer at Globe Vale, we paid £25-6 a night for a hardstanding for caravan and awning, EHU, direct water hook-up and drainage. (They do take deposits with ful payment about a fortnight before you go) The site is well laid out and maintained superbly. Toilet blocks are immaculate. There is a small bar which do meals - not too expensive or fussy, but really good value & quality. It's central for getting to most places in Cornwall. About 2-3 mile to nearest beach (Porthtowan), several supermarkets (1-2 miles from site - mainly Tesco), camping/caravanning retailers about 2 miles away. Easy acces to the A30, close to Redruth, but feels as if you are well away from the towns/busy bits - no road noise at all. Lovely views over towards St Agnes'. It does us just fine!
Hi, Lady's Mile, Dawlish, South Devon are advertising 25% off if you book 5 nights or more, any season on their website. At £30.00 per night for a 'superpitch' think this includes upto 4 people, no extra for car and £4.75 for a dog, might be worth a look. They've got indoor and outdoor pools and a clubhouse/shop/cafe etc. Nice clean site too. Hope this helps.
