Hi everybody i'm looking for a small campsite with family bike riding ie railway lines or forest paths. No more than 2hrs drive from Rossendale. Thanks for any help
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Byreside near Consett in Durham? has an excellent cycle track that was once a railway right next to it, but I'm not sure if they accept tents so if you are interested you would have to check.
Could be worth looking around the Dalby Forest area. There are some great tracks through the forest for all abilities. It might be a bit further than you wanted to travel but it's a great area.
Clumber Park in Notts has a campsite and a Caravan Club site and miles upon miles of bike riding routes. There are marked cycle routes and a bike hire shop. We live fairly local and go loads. I haven't stayed at the campsite but have had a peak and I have visited the CC site when my sister stayed there, looked nice and clean, probably a typical CC site but we're not members. It may fall within your travelling time, it's just of the A1.
there is a very nice safe off road coastal cycle path from abergelle to ross on sea in north wales, very safe for familys.and plenty of campsites in the area.
Wirral country park is on the wirral way from west kirby to hooton, a disused railway line.Magnificent for family cycling but site is extremely popular within the caravan club
Major Bridge, Holme on Spalding Moor has a dissused railway line which you can walk/cycle to from the campsite. Basic facilities but a lovely chill out place.
Lots of sites near York have access to the sustrans route from Selby to York, its a lovely ride which goes through the race course and by the river into York.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
