Looking for a campsite close to Skafell Pike...

We have a VW California so need a toilet/shower etc.

I think the National trust site at Wasdale is the nearest.

There are no sites "near" to Scafell Pike, but there are sites at Stonethwaite and Chapel House Farm in Borrowdale.  Both sites are a short drive from Seathwaite, from where you can walk over Scafell and Scafell Pike.
There used to be a camp site at Seathwaite Farm but I don't think it exists any more.

We stayed at Church Stile last year which was used by many campers who were climbing Scafel Pike. Lovely campsite with stunning views. There are two great pubs in the village that do fab food and real ale. Would highly recommend.

Wasdale is very near to scafell pike and I would think that it is the easiest route up.  Its very quick from there and its a fantastic place.  I can't remember the facilities though.

As you are doing the 3 peaks challenge you'd be best to practice the route up from Seathwaite via Styhead Tarn and the corridor route. This is the quickest route up and down when you include the time it takes to get from the M6 and back. So I'd choose one of Bernie's two sites.

The C&CC site at Eskdale is quite near to Scafell and is a really nice site. Check out the reviews on here and you will see what I mean. Boot village where it is situated has 2 really nice pubs and are a short walk from the site. Very nice shower block. No caravans allowed but small camper vans are. Photo of the site.
