There's one called Willowbank further up the coast towards Ainsdale.

Of course, there is the CC site at Southport but I think Willowbank is closer to Pontins.

Pontins is on the coastal road between Southport and Ainsdale. Riverside is in a little village called Banks on the outskirts of Southport and I would guess that it is about 4 or 5 miles away from Pontins (I'm not too good with distances but it would take about 10 minutes to get there by car).

Willowbank and Southport CC are both within a mile I would say.

Southport CC is strictly members only - although it is the closest to town centre.     
Willowbank is about a ten minute drive down the road - and a very straight forward drive.    Has an excellent reputation.

If you don't mind using cl/cs sites,there is a caravan & camping club cs alongside the marine lake on the coast road about 3 mile from pontins,beautiful spot!

Nearest site to Pontins is Willowbank - about five minutes down the road - turn left out of the site, straight down the road to the roundabout and and a left into Pontins.
