The Camping and Caravan Club have recently taken over the site close to Alton Towers called The Star Campsite.  I know it did not have that great a name with previous owners but things will have hopefully changed now it has been taken over.

We have stayed at the Star site found it fine, great playground for the kids. Some of the pitches are on a slope though but not all
