We have been looking at going to the CCC site at Windermere (Ashes Lane) for a couple of weeks but having looked through their photos and video I noticed that there was a camping area where the cars parked in the middle in a car park and you pitched tents around this. They did look like quite small tents so maybe it won't apply to us but as we use the power from the car for lights etc we need the car to be parked right next to the tent. Anyone who has been here have you seen this area do you think we would have a problem?

I have camped there twice.
The first time I had to leave the car in the car park because no cars were allowed on the tent pitches.
The second time there were cars beside tents on the pitches, but they did not have a pitch vacant for me even though I had booked weeks earlier.  They ended up putting me in the centre of a circle of caravans on another part of the site well away from the other campers.  It was like being in a circus, caravans all around me watching every move I made, absolutely no privacy.

The biggest problem was the kids screaming around the site on their bikes at night whilst their parents were in the site bar having a peaceful evening away from the kids.
Needless to say I have not been back.

Im in and out car all the time, as I sometimes leave certain things in till I need them. I only like sites where you can park next to tent. It also has the advantage of a divider for privacy and helps to shelter one side of tent.

Never been to the site you're talking about though, might give it a miss.
