Hi all, I'm organising a stag do for approximately 25 mature chaps, and looking for a group friendly site in the South of England (Hampshire, Dorset, Devon, Sussex, Berkshire). We'd like one that allows campfires or has fire-pits. It doesn't need to have lots of frills, just a pleasant place with plenty of space for daytime games. I did find one near Kimmeridge, but it doesn't take bookings, and I'd rather not risk being turned away on the day.
Any recommendations or leads would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
James

I can't suggest any campsites but can I make another suggestion...
Have you thought about approaching a very small campsite where your group might be the ONLY campers on site? You might find most campsites would turn away such a large single s3x group if you were there with families. After all, you might all be well behaved young men not intending to have a drink but the campsite owners might not risk it.
(Just my opinion.)

Planning to go to Holland for 2 weeks camping in August BUT the planning is giving me a headache!
'Socks' is right. Many campsite owners don't allow groups, particually single sex groups. A year or two ago I tried to find a site in a similar area to you, James, for myself and my 2 sisters and our children of various ages. We are mature and hyper boring, but some sites didn't even respond to my enquiry when I said we were a group of 9. We eventually booked seperately.
So Good Luck, I really hope you find somewhere suitable.

I've just had follow me on Twitter.Partyfield Dorset I've checked on here and they don't seem to be listed yet. Have no further knowledge than looking at their website but might be a suggestion for you.
Well, Thank You ever so much for the responses. I plan to call each of these mentioned over the weekend and hopefully at least one will come good. Will update this thread with the results.
The Stag Do was a blast and the camp site perfect. So I can highly recommend Stonehenge Campsite for group bookings. The owner encourages fun and really has done well with his campsite. There are hot showers, decent clean toilets, a washing up area, a field that allows campfires, more, more, more, and the place has a friendly feel to it. We rented a hog roast from a local pub (Rainbow On The Lake) which was a perfect accompaniment.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
