I just wanted to share a very positive experience I have had today regarding campsite fees.
We have booked a pitch at Ty Newydd Farm in Aberdaron, North Wales for a week in July. When I emailed my enquiry I got a very quick response and a booking form sent straight back. The pricing structure was very clear - there were two rates for tents, one for up to 4 people and one for 5-8 people. There are only 2 of us, but as we have a 5 man tent I assumed we would fall into the higher price bracket and was perfectly happy with that.
This morning I received my confirmation email following receipt of my deposit and booking form, and was informed that my price has been amended as the charge is based on the actual number of people and not the size of my tent
I am really pleased that I am saving a bit of money, and that the campsite owner was so quick to tell me that I had made an error - if she hadn't said anything I would have paid the higher price without question!

Thats great to hear Kate - good to see that us park owners will help out.
Have a fab. stay at Ty Newydd Farm :- its a lovely area and beaches & villages are spotless and quiet. Abersoch is a favourite place as well - nice little tea shops etc.
That's fab Kate, that was a nice surprise for me. Saved a liitle bit of money. Thumbs up.
I have only had good experiences with site owners when I have been camping. Always been accommodating, very friendly. people.

I'm always glad when a site owner gives a small discount for solo campers like me! One I go to quite frequently (and it's not expensive either) usually knocks off £2 for the solo camper regardless of tent size.

Nice to read a positive post, people are so quick to criticise and it's good to read about a site that is honest and priced fairly. It'll certainly make myself and others consider using them if we're planning to visit north wales.
Thanks everyone for your comments. Brookie, I always used to holiday in Aberdaron as a child, as did OH, but we have never been together so are looking forward to visiting some old haunts
Will obviously post a review of the campsite after our hols, but it all looks good and I am just so pleased with the service.
I think that being a park owner must be a very difficult job, trying to keep us all happy when we all want different things from our well earned holiday! We are all quick to complain so I think it's only right to give credit where it's due too!
Hope you all have a great summer wherever you may be going!

They also do a very good (and reasonably priced) breakfast at the on-site cafe at Ty Newydd. It is a very good value for money site, with a new shower block just being finished off.
That was very honest of the owner. As they say, every little bit helps. Have a lovely trip in July.

We kept a lookout for the Gentleman Owner of a Campsite to pay him our due Campsite Pitch Fees. When he came for his nightly walk around we offered up our exact pitch fees, he declined them and said we must only him pay on the last day of our stay. Of all the years he'd had the Campsite only two sets of people had left without paying.
We couldn't put our Folding Camper's Awning up due to a large Caravan pitched next to us which would have had to cut across our pitch to get out. The Caravan left the next day, and we decided not to bother putting up our awning for the rest of our stay (last year)
At the end of our stay we found the Gentleman Owner and handed him our £10 nightly pitch fee of several nights, (which included EHU) He told us that he would only accept £8 a night as we were a small unit and hadn't put up our Awning.
