We're planning to drive from the North West to Portsmouth to catch a 7 am ferry to the Isle of Wight. We were thinking of setting off the night before and stopping to get some sleep near Portsmouth. Can anybody recommend a good location to park the car and caravan, ideally no more than 30 mins drive from Portsmouth??

We asked the same question a few weeks ago but nobody posted we have looked at the campsite seach its so helpful when people point that out to you but it would be nice to hear from someone who has camped near Portsmouth good luck you will have to let us now if you find some where
CC Site 5 mins from the bottom of the A34 just outside Winchester (40 minutes to Portsmouth) or CC site at Fareham 15 minutes to portsmouth or you have a municipal site at Southsea Holiday park all ideal for an overnight stop.

I live close to Southsea holiday park, it is a hole, a waste of what could be a lovely site & probably one of the dearest sites I know of, I would not recomend !!!!!!!!!!!
