Last year we stayed at ty mawr, which is a park resorts site, we had a brill time, location was fantastic. But this year its working out at £43 a night which sort of makes it quite expensive. Does anyone know of any other sites needs be electric which is same sort of idea as a park resorts, we loved north wales as it had so much to do

If you are willing to go further west greenacers nr Porthmadog has good facilities, theres one nr a beach in dinas dinlle (nr caernarfon) they have a clubhouse and pool. there are also several sites around towyn (where ty mawr is located) that are very similar. The haven in pwllheli take touring caravans. I think there's a pontins in Prestatyn too. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find something
------------- 2013:
Ty Mawr - March
Hurley Riverside Park - May
I need something what takes tents, sorry not sure if i put it on my earlier post, i think its becoming a pain cos not many do, just wish it was cheaper, and when my dad paid £3 per night on same pitch its kind of like a kick in the teeth it being so dear, being in season or not :(
Have a think which facilities on site you used?
We stayed at Ty Mawr last year - only because we got a good off peak deal, and the areas suited us, as we needed to be near home, as Pip was recovering from major surgery and Alder Hey was about an hour down the road. Other than the swimming pool, which Alice lived in, we didn't really use things like the club house - the kids were too old for the Sparky shows, which they loved when they were younger, and the adult stuff didn't start until too later for me.
OK they did pop down for the older kids stuff for an hour, but it wasn't vital - had it not been there they would have been in the play area.
I know there is another site just down the road which accepts tents - something like Manor Farm which looks very nice. It is on my to try list.
We have stayed at Ty Mawr many times because of the facilities and lots to do in the area. I have looked and looked for a site similar in the area for quite a while now and had no luck.
This year we went to Glan Y Mor in Clarach, it is half the price per night and has the same sort of facilites but on a smaller scale. It is right on the beach and has lots to do in the area.
We were going to go to Ty Mawr this August but discovering it has gone up to £43 this year we are having to look elsewhere although they do offers in august, last year we go 7 nights for the price of 6.
Good Luck with your search, if you find somewhere let me know
Dinnle is a great site and a lot cheaper that Ty Mawr, heated outdoor pool , 5 mins walk tp the beach , the only downside is it can get windy , oh and the clubhouse has gone really expensive.
We stayed on Ty Mawr last year,We paid £188 for two tents (6 & 8 berth) 4Xadults and 4Xchildren, and this was over the August bank holiday weekend. This year they want over £245 for a single tent, and this is not for a bank holiday week, just a normal week during the school holidays. After the school holiday,it goes down to £110 app. Talk about extortion. We are not going there at all this year,we can't afford it,so they are not only losing site fees, but the money that would be spent entertaining the grandchidren on site, and the money over the bar in the night club.
I'm not tight,I'm just careful,as I work to hard for it to waste it,and I despise ripped off.

If you wanted the same area there is a site next door to Ty Mawr which takes tents - Henllys Farm. Its just a basic site but does have electric pitches quoted at £23 per night high season on their website.
