I think there is a lot of previous on this -try a search. I have been in the CC many years but cant compare the two as I have not used the C and cc. There are somr differences I beleive esp for rallying.
Everybody has their own preferences. It depends what you'll use the club for ie Club sites or rallies. We've been members of C&CC for over 4 years and decided to try the CC for a year. We mostly rally and due to personal circumstances the C&CC suits us better. As you've done a year with CC why not switch to C&CC for the nest year. You should then be able to mke your choice.
Caravan Club (CC) has about 220 of it's own sites with about half open to members only and over 2500Cl's ( small 5 five van independant sites of variable standard licensed by the club for members only ) , the standard of it's sites is consistently high over the whole network, it provides every service that a caravanner could need and all the services are comparable with the best of service that you can find anywhere. When you arrive at a club site you book in and pay your fees, no deposits are taken so the whole fee is paid at this time, you are then given information about the site and are told to go go and have a look at the pitches available ( all empty pitches are available ) choose one, set up and then let the wardens know where you have gone. Should you decide for whtever reason that you need to leave before the date that youhave paid till, you can inform the wardens that you are leaving and will receive a refund of all fees for the days that you have paid for but will not be staying for.
Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC) has about 110 sites of it's own a handful(6 at the last count ) of which are members only and a network of about 1500 CS's ( like CL's ), the standard of the sites over the whole network is of a more variable standard with the best sites comparing favourably with the CC sites. It also provides a full range of high quality services for the caravanner that are just as good as those provided by the CC. When you arrive at a club site you book in and pay the remainder of your fees ( a deposit will be taken when you book which if you cancel more than 7 days in advance you getback, within 7 days you lose), the warden will decide where you are to pitch and will escort you to it and ensure that you have pitched precisely as he requires. Should you need to leave for any reason the fees that you have paid will be forfeit ( though in some circumstances by special request to head office giving circumstances and doctors notes be placed on account for you to use in the rest of the year )
I have been a member of the CC for 19 years and have never regretted it, I have been a member of the CCC on two occasion in the last four years and have on both occasions resigned it just did not suit me. I know of a lot of people who like and use the CCC so I would suggest that it is worthwhile joining both clubs and seeing which one suits your purpose best

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

For what it costs just join both and get a massive choice of sites, CL/CS rallies and temporary holiday sites. I often go off for a few weeks at a time and mix CC and CCC sites with THS and CS or CL depending on the area time of year etc. I mainly use CC sites in the winter as in the summer they tend to get booked up and I tend not to plan more than a few days in advance. In the winter the CC sites are great as the pitches are mainly hardstanding and the toilet blocks are well heated. CCC sites tend to be less regimented but not many are ideal for use in sub zero temperatures.
The above is just my feelings but for £40 extra to join both clubs I feel the flexibility it gives me is worth it (only about 12 pints of bitter!)

I agree with one reply on here, if you can afford it, join both. We tend to use C.L.'s (C.C.)however, I'm finding more and more nowadays, some of the places we want to go to, has no C.L. that suites our requirement, but, generally there is a C.S.,(C.& C.C.)
You get more space on these sites, they only take five vans at Easter/Spring Bank, (never get chocker), and you get little bonuses, like free range eggs, milk on site, sometimes farm shops on site. Generally, a bit more easy going. Depends on your personal needs.

another vote for cc im a member of both at the moment but when membership on c&cc runs out i wont be renewing been a member cc for seven years now i find it alot better than c&cc but thats my opinion yours and many others may differ its a matter of personal choice try them both and see what you think

I have to ask why if you were members of the CC last year are you contemplating changing to the CCC?
What CC sites have you stayed on etc etc?
I think you may well find the CC have more sites open all year than the CCC.
I am a member of both Clubs and have to say I am definately using my CC membership more. I haven't used my C&CC membership at all this year and will probably only use it for about 5 nights in total.
Despite not using the C&CC to its full potential, I will probably keep both memberships going as I like 1 particular CS (part of the C&CC)
thinking of changing from CC to CCC mainly for the Euoropiuan break down cover, it seems a better policy as it covers the van as well as the car plus its a better price.
also we tend not to plan too far in advance and holiday all season's at home and abroad. so just thought that it may be better on the CCC.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
