Hi,
Thinking about heading to the lakes in August (middle two weeks). Can anyone tell me if this is a particularly busy time in the Lake District?
Thanks

No I haven't book, and don't think I'm going to if it is going to super busy. I was remembering nostaligic family holidays when I was little and thought it might be nice to take the children. However I might wait until low season for that one.

To be honest it depends upon whereabouts in the Lake District you want to go ? Ambleside, Windermere etc can get quite busy, Ullswater, Coniston etc, less so. In the more popular touristy places, you may struggle to find a site at short notice in peak season as well. Whereabouts exactly were you thinking of as the Lake District is a bit vague for those of who live here, there are LOTS of lakes lol

I thought all lakes were called "Lochs" up there in Scotland. So, do the natives call it Loch District, then?
