does anyone know of any good sites, around the whitby or scarborough area?

a site that takes tents, and  has facilites on site,

Loads of sites in that area but it really depends on what exactly you are looking for. Have a look in Campsite Search (yellow button at the top of the page) select the area you want to go to and you'll get a list of all the sites in that area. You can refine your search criteria by selecting the facilities/features you want from the list on the left.

One I could recommend is Centenary Way at Filey, it's only 7 miles down the road from Scarborough. Lovely site with spacious pitches, dog walk, play area, and good facilities, and a very pleasant 15 minute walk to either the beach or the town.
