hi Everyone just looking at hols next year...i know I am eager...and looking at Fforest Fields which is only about 2 1/2 hours from us. we will have a 17 month old and a 4 year old and I am a bit concerned about the water issue? Would they be entertained without a play area and how deep is the water there? would I be a nervous wreck?

we have been to ff twice and have a 2 year old, the lake which is very big is just outside the camp-site, inside the camp-site there is a small stream which is very narrow and not that deep.our two year old just enjoyed the freedom running around, we stayed on the sports field which is quite open. we just made our own entertainment, kite flying football etc. have a look on google maps at the satellite view for a better idea

Do it, FF is simply an awesome place. Loads of kids doing what kids loved to do before 'they' invented hand held computers and such like.

Once you get there the key in your back will unwind and family fun is restored.

I agree with the above, I wouldn't worry about the depth of water as you will be supervising them won't you. As long as your children are happy running around with a ball etc and get a kite, they will have a wonderful time. Old fashioned camping17

Visit Llandrindod Wells! Great scenery, walks, cycling, red kites. Ideal for exploring Mid Wales.

Love it!  Love it!  The children will delight in fishing newts out of the ponds (tad poles at Whitsun if you go then).  Bring a bucket, net and wellies!
