Hi, we are a group of dog lovers from around the country looking to meet up next summer and camp in either yorkshire, lancashire, cumbria or northumberland and are struggling to find a campsite that will accept a) 20+ dogs and b) have them off lead. Of course, we are not idiots and understand that we need to clean up and generally look after any site. We would really like a field to ourselves as there could be 12+ tents also. Can anybody help???

I think you'll be lucky to find anywhere which will allow you to have dogs off lead.

You could try a rally field site, that would probably take the number of tents you are talking about. Budle Farm near Bamburgh have a rally field, but not faciliites.

We have no objections to Dogs on campsites so long as they are on leads. Try somewhere that has a rally field that you could use

You could try this one - http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1052   in Yorkshire. A great site with lots of room to spread out, there's a camping field across the stream away from the main part of the site which would be ideal and I know they've had dog club rallies there in the past. The Howdenshire Rail Trail footpath runs between the two fields and it's ideal for letting dogs off the lead.

Tigermouse you bet me to it.

We are regular visitor to MajorBridge, they are lovely hospitable people the owners and the wardens. The main field, they will insist on dogs on lead but as Tigermouse says there is a large rally field.Facilities are basic but clean (no washing up facilities, so take a washing up bowl or two). £9 -£11 per night.

The walks form the site are fab for both dog and owner. I can highly recomend the Chinese and Indian takeaway in the village.

Brieghton Ferry(pub site) they also do rallys fab site, lovley clean facilities. The owner is laid back and the owner won`t mind your dog off lead.
