Hi all,i have already booked my Perran Sands holiday for September next year, did it in September this year.anyway some friends said it would be nice to go as well,so i have been on the Haven website to get prices and availability for the dates(outside of school hols),to find, even with the 50% early discount, the price is 60%,yes 60% more than we have got it for,for exactly the same pitch/dates.
I think that is disgusting, you would expect an annual increase of maybe 5 or 10% more, but 60%.how are people expected to be able to afford this in the times we are in?would hate to think what it would cost in school hols time.A lot of people book through Haven,as they are good value, not now it seems.thats 300% above inflation.
anyway rant over, just couldn't believe it
------------- it wasn't me,honestly

I have used Haven for midweek breaks, for a few years, because they were really cheap. However, I noticed that their prices had increased considerably for 2012, so they lost a regular visitor. They are spending a lot of money on new toilet/shower blocks, so maybe that is some of the reason. I have also noticed a lot of empty pitches for static vans on several sites, so they are probably trying to recoup the lost fees for those - their site fees are ridiculously high
We too use haven /park resorts early/late season last year a month at thorpe park (15th march start) was 345 this year 559 but i think its the time of year when lots are looking with time off etc I will just wait until nearer the time and see then
I noticed this for Canvas Holidays, booked for May half term a couple of months ago and about a month later the price jumped up £200 (pleased I booked it when I did)

up until now,we have found the earlier you book, the cheaper it is,the prices on their site now are inclusive of a 50% early booking fee,yet are 60% up on this years price,i have emailed them asking why prices have gone up by this amount, but am still waiting their response
Wait til Jan as thats when they usually reduce their prices! I am keeping a close eye on things and their bookings must be down as they rang me last week to ask if i had received their new brochure and if I was booking anything!! I have got a good deal at Easter 2013, 5 nights for £120 which I think is a good price, but yes I agree the prices have gone up loads especially in the school holidays. If your a freedom trail member and have gone or booked 3 breaks you get 10% off any further bookings. We tend to use Haven sites off peak when they are cheaper and quieter so we do more than 3 a year and always get the discount, but, the rates for some dates are extortion. Yes they are spending money on their sites which is great news, but the cost is being passed onto us.
had a reply off them, they say the cost has gone up as they are investing a lot of money in the sites, fair enough, but to put them up 60% is bad,we dont really use the clubs, and pool, just the shower blocks, and this increase makes them the same as normal sites price wise, and the only reason we have been to haven sites is they were cheaper than the sites with no club.so after next year we will not be using them again.
We have booked the weekend before easter 2013 Friday to Monday at Haven Lakeland £35.00 per van on the new euro pitches, same as we paid this year for the same weekend, just hope we have that little heatwave again like last March!!!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
