We are planning to go to Knowsley safari park this weekend in our Motorhome can anyone recommend a camp site near by the park, looking for hook up as first time out with our baby boy not been out for over a year. Somewhere within 20 mins drive if possible coming from the north east of England.

Dont know if the link has worked. This site should be just off the M6 (j27 I think). Ive never stopped there, but there are not many if any sites at all near Knowsley. You will be close to the M57 and the A580 (dual carriageway). The M6 is only about 15-20 mins along the A580 towards Manchester. Wrightington is about 5 mins off the M6. Theres also Royal umpire further along than Wrightington. Worth doing a search on this site for further assistance.

I live about ten mins from safari park! !!! I think at this time of year you will be limited to Shaw hall caravan park ormskirk, a out half hour away. Or riverside (harrison holidays) Southport. About fourth mins. I think they are the only ones open. Both very nice, I believe and both at end of m57 then onto A59 toward Southport. I am sorry but can't do links. Charity farm is very basic, nice place but more for fishing than anything else and about fifty mins away. Going m6, m58 then m57 to prescot junction for safari park. When you get to safari park dont drive through monkeys!!! Q

I thought of riverside at southport myself but the time to drive there will be more than what the OP wants to travel. However, he/she could make use of Southport for another day out depending on the weather of course. Its supposed to be getting very cold this weekend, freezing temperatures according to the wifes weather app on her phone.
