Hi, can anyone please recommend a campsite in Skipton for May half term? There will be approx 8-10 families going, all with children, so need something child friendly that doesn't mind groups. Children's ages range from 2-12yrs. Thanks in advance guys!! :-)

There is a small campsite in Gargrave on the leeds liverpool canal thats very near Skipton, you can walk for miles on the canal tow path, or cycle. There is a big harvester type pub just up the roade. I think its called Eshton Road cs or something like that, they have a small walled field for tents. J x
Riverside camp site - on here in camp site search - in the village of Cononley might suit you. Lovely scenery and the owner doesn't mind groups - the single parents and solo campers group from here has regular meets there. There's a large childrens play area for under eights with scooters and bikes etc (sand surface) and a brilliant play park for all ages (including skateboard ramps) just five minutes walk away in the village, plus a couple of pubs (one serving food), village shop and a Chinese takeaway. Only three miles south of Skipton just off the A629, or a seven minute train journey if you don't want to drive there. It's a lovely site and has become one of my favourites.

Riverside in Cononley is ideal for groups. we have had about 14 tents on there before now. very close to rail station which gets you to Skipton in 4 mins. the village has a great park , 2 pubs and a chinese chippy
there is usually a nutter or 2 hanging round as well
