We are looking for a family friendly campsite (tent) in Northumberland in July or August, there will be two adults, two girls aged 8 and 5 and two month old twins so dont want anywhere too busy or noisy and with plenty of facilities for washing and a fridge, and a childrens play area.

The site Tigermouse has just recommended is the one that me and hubby have chosen to go to in July with my 5 year old twins. I was going to ring to book tomorrow. I'm glad you see two out of the three sites that are on my list to book this year you have recommend Tigermouse I've finally managed to book Centenary Way in Filey today. Don't suppose you'e been to this one which is the other one I've chosen to book
brb56 - we went to this area of Northumberland a few years ago although stayed in a cottage. We found lots to do in the area and fab beaches for the kids.
Well you've either been reading my blog or you've got ESP - I went to Manorafon twice last year and hoping to go again in a few weeks time, and yes, I can recommend it. It's a lovely little site and your twins will love all the animals, including pygmy goats and a couple of wallabies. Only a few minutes walk along the road to a big Tesco and the town centre so if you need supplies you've not far to go. Book it, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Forgot to say in my previous post, Springhill Farm in Northumberland has very spacious pitches so ideal if you have a larger-than-normal tent.

I've must have ESP I've not read your blog where will I find it I'll have to have a read.
I can't believe you've been to Manorafon that so funny you've been to all three of the places we've chosen. I've already booked and paid a deposit over phone tonight I'm so glad I managed to book it, part of the reason was for the animals for the kids. Good to hear Tesco is not far away for supplies. Just Seahouses to book in the morning now and I'm done apart from weekends away :-)
My blog address is in my 'homepage' at the top of my posts - the Manorafon pages are last Easter and an impromptu weekend in August. Also if you click 'my other blog' you'll find my own write-up of Manorafon in the A-Z list on the right.
