The wife wants to go to Norfolk area to see the lavender fields in bloom, we where thinking around about 10th-20th July.
We would like info on, where about the fields are, any camp sites you recommend to stay, we don’t want large sites.
we like clean and quiet sites, we are members of the c&cc, and the c,c.
And the best route from Taunton,Somerset, up-to Norfolk.
Thanks graham

You have chosen the best time as it is in the middle of the flowering season.
I'm not sure if I agree with Tentz route advice as I would choose to turn off the A14 and head to Kings Lynn via Oundle and Peterborough. It is probably about 30 or 40 miles shorter and it avoids the bad section of the A14 between Huntingdon and Cambridge and the A11 between Barton Mills and Thetford (massive roadworks while they are building new dual carriageway).
Fields are Heacham area to the N of Kings Lynn and not far from either of the CC or CCC sites at Sandringham. It is a lovely area with great walks and birding.

I agree wiith birder99 we live in Suffolk and there is no reason to go A11 towards Thetford it makes for a very long way round. We live near the A11 and it is under going major roadworks this year due to it being made into a duel carriageway. It is closed most nights even this early on in construction anyone coming this way this year is in for long delays it can only get worse. Since you are going to Hunstanton way follow birder99's directions I would.

I would have written what birder99 has written (but won't bother). Sandringham CC&C site really lovely, not been to cc but they are very close to each other.

Sanderingham would be my choice also. The house is worth a visit.
There is a lavender farm not that far from there, you can really smell it as you drive past, only problem for me is I don't like the smell.

We would also say the Sandringham CC site is about the best for visiting the Norfolk Lavender Centre, although I would give the chip van a miss, after sampling some last year, a portion of soggy fried frozen chips and a lump of batter with very little fish in the middle is not my idea of fun, especially at the rather expensive prices they were charging.
Theres much better chips to be had in Hunstanton, or indeed at Heacham, where you follow the signposts down the winding country lane towards the beach, and the little chippy is just past the statics campsite on the LH side of the road.
We find that the approach to the CC site is far less bumpy with overgrown treeroots than that of the C&CC, something to consider if you have any low slung points under your unit, such as movers or jockey wheels that have been left fairly low.

We must be near enough neighbours, I live a few miles from Barton Mills and it's 40mph all the way to Thetford
