If you do do the C2C the tyneside way, you can call in at Byreside Caravan Park... http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/details.asp?revid=4090 The C2C goes straight along the side of the camping part, yet the shower and toiltes are just across it on the other side of the track.
