Hi Everyone

My wife and I are booked to go to  St Ives Bay park in August. I have heard it can be a particular windy site any time of the year, has any one had experience of this or is it generally calm? I know weather pattens can change but the bits ive heard it can be quite gusty even in sunny days!

any advice would be appreciated

My Mum is in St Ives Bay. And yes, even when sunny it can be windy. I was there visiting the weekend and even though the weather was scorchio the winds were blustery. I rang her earlier & currently gale force. The weather comes off the Atlantic and can change very quickly.

St Ives bay is set among the sand dunes at Hayle and they undulate around the site so it's no worse than any other coastal site. The dunes can shelter you as well. It's not often in August that you get high winds. I think people do comment on coastal site winds because they are not used to being next to the sea and feel exposed. If you have an awning put a tie down kit on the front for peace of mind.
