We have been notified by the holiday park association that there is about to commence a campaign (at the moment its starting in Wales), to stop people living in Static Caravans on holiday parks. Not sure what measures are going to be taken but it is expected that this will then also take place in England & Scotland.

To do so legally you need a park home most probably as most caravan holiday sites are not 12 months per year.

Most park homes are over 55s, so my guess is you have a struggle on your hands.

no not park homes all the time i have found sites with residential license but too far for what im wanting one site that is near to me doesnt rent you have to buy your caravan outright so i would need a minimum of 5 or 6 grand to move in and pay rent

That is extremely cheap for a legit 12 month residential site. I would be extremely cautious, as Ang/Ken have said the authorities are wising up to sites flouting their licences and you may well find yourself homeless as a result of false promises.

Around here you would be looking at £60,000 plus. Then you pay monthly ground rent.

If you are offered anything before you do part with a penny or move yoyr children, ask for sight of a contract and site terms etc.

Tons are flouting their licences and letting people live on site 365 days a year. You will pay council tax on a residential site too.

Some info

The above is about legitimate residential sites or park homes and well worth a read. Vastly different to holidays sites and homes which will usually have license terms and a period each year during which you must be off site.

Be sure you know what is being offered. Some insist you own a house elsewhere to ensure you have premises to go to, ie your static mist not be your main residence.

Well typically they are banded A which is quite a few hundred a year council tax alone. So incredibly cheap accommodation........ like I said, if it were me I would want proof it has a legit 12 month licence, a contract and terms and conditions.
