hoping for some recommendations, we have a long awaited weekend off middle of august, I was about to book Highburn House in Wooler as love the views and feeling of being away from it all, but at the same time like that the villiage is only a 5 min walk away for supplies and when I can't be bothered to cook!
Hubby has decided he would like to try somewhere different so am looking for somewhere similar but within a 2hr drive of middlesbro. Only have 2 nights so Cote Ghyll out of the question (another of our faves). Have had a quick look at the campsite search but hard to specify what i'm looking for in the search facility.
Any recommendations appreciated
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Come to Otley, there is a small site called Clarion Lodge, it has had some bad reviews but always people there when we drive past, its in a lovely location with views to die for looking over the Wharfe Valley. It has waymarked walks from the site. Now to sell our town We have a river with a fantatic play park, free tennis courts, loads of grass for picnics, ducks and swans to feed. we also have the Chevin forest country park, again great for walks, picnics, mountain biking with spectacular views. Plenty of nice pubs some family friendly, real ale, good food. Sainsburys and Waitrose and a small Asda, usual high street full of chaity shops. market on Friday and Saturday. Half an hour drive to Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Grassington a bit further. Harrogate 20 mins (10 miles) Knaresborough 3 miles further. Skipton 40 mins, all this about an hour and a half drive from you. Oh and if you are into car bot sales we have that on a sunday too, also some weekends folk festival with people playing in the pubs. when the sun is shining its a lovely place to live, when it wet its just as miserable as anywhere else.
