We have never been to IOW before but planning to go next week. Looking at campsites/websites now and was hoping to get some advice from regular visitors. Is there any campsites on the east coast within walking distance to a beach? We have two children, 5 and 2 years so any additional facilities would be great.

Not a regular visitor (last time I went there was fifty years ago on my first ever independent camping trip!) but check the reviews of some of the coastal sites shown on Camp Site Search.

were staying at Languard this weekend - never stayed there but as its one night should be ok.

There are a few Sandown/shanklin area.

That area is lovely but worth travelling to the other side of the island whilst your there.

Have a fab time

Lou

Not really the are your looking for but I recommend Whitecliffe holiday park. Not far from the ferry, Brilliant for kids and the tent section is well away from the club house so you can keep it cheap and family if you want to you can join in

We stayed at Nodes Point last week and it is based right on the beach. This was the main reason I booked this site as it was great for keeping my two kids occupied.

We also got a cheap ferry deal by phoning and booking with the park direct - £59 return.

Hiya,

Thanks for your post. Is it Whitecliff Bay, Bembridge ?

Looks great, what was the inside pool like for the kids ?

Narrowed it down to Whitecliff Bay and Nodes Point.

Thanks

Tina

I haven't been to Whitecliff Bay (and yes, it is Bembridge) for some years but had an email today with lots of special offers for the rest of the season so might be worth checking the website. Some are ferry inclusive, which is how we travelled when we went there. Lots to do for children but the beach is at the bottom of a long steep path so you need to be fairly mobile. Swimming pools were fine when we were there with my young grandson.

Nodes Point is much easier to get to the beach but some of the tent pitches are quite sloping.
