Hello everyone, it's been ages since I've last been on. We've been seasonal down Paignton this year. We've had a fab time on a fantastic site. I've got itchy feet though, the gypsy in me wants to be on the move again. I want to go back to a smaller van & tour around for the winter & then do seasonal again next year. What I wanted to ask is this......have any of you sold your caravan with pitch for the rest of the season? How did the site owners feel about it? Have any of you been refused passing it on? My hubby has agreed to do touring too as long as he gets the van he wants (elddis crusader superstorm) they are few & far between though for our budget.

First port of call would be talk to the site your currently on!
They might let you pass the rest of the season on to someone else, they might not, all sites are different, depends if they have a waiting list or not!
My brother managed to when he purchased his van, that was a few years ago, and he went to the site owner while he was there to introduct himself and inquire, they were ok, and he just paid the seller the share of the time left on that site.
Work out what the share will be on a weekly basis then any prospective buyers will know, nothing worse than asking someone when buying for them not to know the answer.
Depends how you list the van though, as you could put people off if they think they are going to be left with a pitch for a few months. Maybe when someone enquiries about the van, mention the remainder of the seasonal pitch, as a selling point, but not part of the deal, if you know what I mean!
I didn't think they would. Not sure what the problem is though, the pitch has already been paid for? I think I will advertise as on a seasonal at the mo but they will have to speak with owners first. A van I was interested in was selling with pitch. Turns out someone else is coming to look at van before me & he admitted that he's not going to say anything to the buyer. That's mean, what if the site owner cottons on & chucks them off?
I'm down the van Thursday so will pop in the office & have a chat then.

Yup, has been paid for by you but most of them have it in their terms that if you sell up that pitch becomes free, no refund and any new bod pays pro rata.
I don't think it is on tbh, as you say they have received payment for that pitch already. Most won't refund you for the unused weeks either. If they refunded you and then re-hired that would be fair. In South Devon seasonal pitches are big business and very expensive in most places.
Yes I did notice while shopping around. Their sister site wanted something like £2100 if my memory serves me right. I wasn't even going to bother ringing them, but something made me do it. Glad I did because I paid £1750 this yr & the site has everything the kids want inc disco, but not a rowdy site. We have lovely "neighbours" too.
