Hi this may be a stab in the dark but I'm desperately trying to remember a site i stayed on a few years back! It was in North Wales. Isolated and by the beach. Allowed dogs and campfires but more importantly there was an amazing pub which was a fair trek. The walk took us over hills and descended into a kind of cove with just a pub and i think a gift shop or really small museum and a also a path down to the sea with an area for launching boats! I am sure i didnt dream this!! I have a feeling it may have been Aberafon but i cant find the pub on google earth or maps! Please help!

Hi thanks for the responses. I've actually been searching for hours! I had a look at the Ty Coch Inn and its not the one. I remember walking my old english sheepdog from the site over hills and down to the mystery pub! The only two site i remember staying at are aberafon in Gywn Goch and Cau Du in tywyn. I sure i didnt dream it! I found it on my own with the dog and went back with others in the evening and a nice helpful fellow gave us a lift back in his land rover and the drive didnt take that long! Sorry its all so cryptic!

Did you have to open the big wooden gate and then there was a very narrow track to the site? If so, it's Aberafon. It had ots own access to the beach too.
