I have just reaised that there are two clubs. The Caravan Club and the Caravan and Camping club. Help . Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of which club to join. I can only afford one of them.
My intention is to go for a few days away with four dogs a few times a year in the UK without spending a fortune.
Thanks

We've been members of both and this is our thoughts:
CC : immaculate sites and modern facilities, strict wardens and rules which do seem harsh but makes for well run campsite. Regimented pitching.
C & CC : sites not so immaculate, facilities clean but dated on some sites. Laid back atmosphere, although we had laid back wardens which meant less rules = more hassle on site (bikes ridden through pitches, speed limit not adhered to, noise late at night)
We don't belong to either club now. Stopped both memberships this year - we found the CC site were getting expensive. We can get private sites we like for cheaper cost per night.

We are members of the C&CC. We use their insurance for the van and their discounts on ferries, so we do save money.
We also use their small CS sites which suit us, plus as over 55s (well, over 60s if the truth be told) we get their Age Concession which gives a good saving on site fees where available.
I don't know what you use to camp (caravan, motorhome, tent?) but I understand that tents are not allowed on some CC sites.

I chose the caravan and camping club over the CC as we dont do regimented and sites full of rules. Saying this, Non club sites seem to be cheaper and just as good if you do your homework
Both Clubs have some sites where non-members are welcome. It might be worth trying a couple before deciding which one to join. You will pay a little bit more than a member normally though.
