Can anyone that has been here tell me what the pitches are like? I have the option of hardstanding, or grass pitch in the green field.
Hardstanding is preferred as I have heard it can get very wet and turn to mud, but some sites fair better than others. Also the site says the awning area on hardstanding is also concrete????? How does one get pegs in on that? they say you need a full awning, but surely there is the flaps that hold the awning tight to the van that need to be fixed somewhere?
It seems an ideal site for or 3 boys (5, 7 and 10) with the beach and fun fair. Yes i know its a big commercial site, but its a fun packed 2 weeks we want, the other 9 holidays we will have will be a mixture of CL and CC sites.
Hopefully someone can clear the muddy waters for me :-)

They do have hardstanding say you need hardstanding when you book
Thanks but do you know what the awning area on the hardstanding is like? They said that is concrete too and only suitable for full awnings. As each van is different in length it is difficult ti understand how that can work

Been loads of times wouldn't go for hardstanding as you cant get pegs in just at the sides if it meets the grass. always stayed on the grass no problems at all. Excellent if you have children plenty for them to do and beach just across the road. We are going again next year. Stayed at Northam Farm this year it was ok but not as good as Unity

we have been in unity ,northam farm and warren farm much prefer northam there pitches are practically all hardstand but its easy to peg your awning you only need to put your wheel right on the edge, as someone else said its vey difficult to peg at unity and when we were at warren farm the pitches were all waterlogged and the site has had to close sometimes because of the waterlogging

thanks Doug,
good ole weather is always a problem, but i can't let it put me off. we booked Hoburne Bashley one year, that was a hardstanding pitch, with gravel awning area......it flooded!!! 2 inches of water right through the awning, all the pitches did pretty much the same. I think that given wet weather your likely to suffer the same thing. Only place we have yet to get flooded out from is a CC site, but then they spend fortunes, and that type one gravel they use is not the best to walk over!!!
Am having a look at Warren Farm and the one you talk of as we speak, i just want somewhere that the kids can be kids, play and enjoy themselves without having to get in the car to drive everywhere.
