Can anyone recommend somewhere for this event? I'm fine camping south or North of the lake a few miles, then taking the steamer across.

I googled and see it's 13-15 June. We found that the Lakes in June were so busy, we didn't have the luxury of choice - some owners didn't bother to phone back, some sites were full (many are almost entirely seasonals), some had rallies, and some were of the static / enormous variety which we didn't fancy. There are so many helpful folk on UKCS, you're bound to get some closer recommendations, but book asap when you've decided. If you don't get one by Windermere, the one we eventually found at High Bridge End Farm (Thirlmere) was OK. But too far to join in the social side of the event. Oh, and check C&CC magazine / website for any THSs (temp holiday sites).

try waterside at crooklands straight off Kendal mway turnoff (less than a mile )about 8 miles from windermere hotel with good food next door pub on site.
