Hi,
We are looking for some good UK campsites that have swimming pools. We have camped in France for the 10 years, but need to stay in this country this year, mainly because we now have two small dogs. Anybody got any recommendations?
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Not sure about OP's location or how he/she is prepared to travel, however, the following 3 are the ones I know of:
Wareham Forest in Dorset
Cofton Country Holidays and Forest Glade in South Devon
Wareham Forest has limited grass pitches with EHU all located on one patch, and I am not keen on the layout, hence I have never been there myself.
I went to Cofton in the winter of 2009, and it was lovely, even when the pool and other facilities were closed. I would gladly go back to Cofton one day.
I went to Forest Glade during Easter 2012 to join a few of the South West mop, and pitched on an EHU pitch away from the touring field where the others stayed. I find its facilities not as good as Cofton. However, the indoor pool appeared to be quite popular.

Hi,
Thanks for your help so far ,not really bothered about the location as long as we can take the dogs. Indoor or outdoor pool would be fine, provided its heated!!! As I said we have always camped in France and enjoyed the sun, the pool ,the beach etc.But this year we would like to try a UK based holiday, but our experiences of UK camping is not good , expensive campsites with terrible facilities. We were hoping that things might have improved in the last decade or so.
Cofton gives UKCS members discount, see terms and conditions.

We love Wareham Forest site it's perfect for dogs as the forest is right by your pitch. They also have nature trail & enclosed dog run. Pool is outdoor.
Another nice one with pool is River Valley London Apprentice near Pentewan in Cornwall. The pool is indoor, there is an off road path that follows the river for just over 2 miles to the sea. Dogs are not permitted on Pentewan Sands but there are woodland walks right by the site.
Sea view International nr Mevagissey has a lovely outdoor pool. Site has sea views & there is an enclosed dog field. Nr many lovely beaches.

Brighouse Bay, near Kirkcudbright, has a Leisure Club. Site part of the Gillespie Leisure group (they have 4 sites in Dumfries & Galloway). Our dog loved the big empty beach next door, there's lots of things to do on site (golf, pony trekking...) and in the area (dog walks in forests, on other beaches, or up hills big & small). Dark skies too (seeing a shooting star is almost guaranteed), and a soft climate.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
