Our beautiful established campsite at Clickimin In Lerwick is under threat of demolition from our local council. They have purchased the campsite with the intention to build a new school on the site. There is more than enough room to site the school just to the other side of the campsite, and with a little innovative planning could be built in harmony with the existing campsite.

Please take a few minutes to sign our petition to try to make the Council see sense and let us retain our successful, beautiful campsite by signing:

http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/shetland-islands-council-stop-the-demolition-of-clickimin-campsite-and-reopen-the-facility

A little background on the situation can be found at:

http://www.shetnews.co.uk/news/8643-petition-to-save-campsite-attracts-500-names

Thanks in advance, please sign and share!

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

I have signed it and cited as evidence the excellent Woodlands campsite at Carnoustie - the new Woodlands Primary School was built on part of the caravan site, both are located in the grounds of the former Carnoustie House which now forms a mature park that campers and school children enjoy together. The only way you'd guess this is because the site's toilet block is much bigger than you'd expect for a campsite the size it is now.
