Hi guys, i need help trying to find the most suitable campsites (camping/tent) for mine and the families needs. Criteria;

  • North East England - Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear
  • Dog Friendly
  • Indoor swimming pool - nice but not essential
  • Noise curfew - most important, the past three trips have all been spoiled by noisy neighbours singing and carrying on til 2am, not very nice when your waking up at 7 each morning.

I can probably find suitable places myself with time and effort, but i was hoping your wealth of experience would trump mine. Hope you can help me out...

Regards

Dave

Looks clean enough, as i said the pool isnt the deciding factor its whether its going to be full of yobs being yobs at daft o'clock in the morning. Kids will love the farm, so will my border collie.

Ive done a few campsites further down near Filey that werent too bad, but hated the drive, hence why im looking a bit closer to home (Newcastle).

We stayed at Leekworth, Middleton-in-Teesdale, whit week after a recommendation on here. Lovely quiet site, ten minute walk into a lovely village with everything you could need including nice pub, fish and chip shop, pizza shop, co-op, etc, unfortunately no swimming pool but I'm sure you would find one in the area somewhere if you wanted to swim. No problems with noise, quiet after 10.30pm. Allows firepits, provides them if you don't have your own, very reasonably priced. Facilities are new and very nice, very clean. No shop on site, but as I say, only a short walk to village. Beautiful area.

Just had a very enjoyable few nights at Waren Mill, Bamburgh during half term. It's got a small heated outdoor pool which the kids loved. It was busy with it being half term and good weather and there were a few small groups enjoying themselves but it was quiet after 11pm.

There's not a pool at Highburn House, Wooler but there is one in Wooler itself and it's only a 15 minute walk. It's a lovely site and very reasonably priced.

Proctors Stead at Craster (no pool) but great site. Buddle Bay also nice and quiet but facilities not great , didn't bother me as I use my own.
