Hi
My (sensible) 16 year old and a small group of friends want to go camping to celebrate the end of their exams - I'm not surprised to be struggling to find a site that will accept them as they believe ALL teenagers to be noisy, rowdy and disrespectful.
These are a decent bunch of hard working kids and I trust them to know how to behave.
So I just wondered if anyone knows of a site in the Derbyshire area who would allow them a pitch?
Originally they wanted to be near Alton Towers but I've found none that will accept them.
Thanks all!

Greenway (or Greenways?) near Bakewell used to be very relaxed but not sure if it is now.

My son was hoping to do the same. 16 year old boys who are also scouts. I havent actually looked into it but I wondered whether a good start would be sites which take d of e.

I have suggested Yha to my son as you can stay without adults at 16

I second trying the D of E accepting campsites, can't offer any specific advice, but have to say that it annoys me so much when all teenagers are only viewed with the stereotypical binge drinking, foul mouthed and irresponsible label that has been stuck on them.

How very sad, when I am sure that most are totally not like that at all.

All the young people that I have spent time with, my kids and their friends are great, fun and well behaved youngsters with a good attitude and have no problems considering others.

Hope they find somewhere that will have the sense to trust them and that they have a wonderful time, after all that exam stress is finally over!

Jane.

Why not have a look at Pilsbury Lodge Farm? It is near Hartington and very close to the cycling trails if they fancy some entertainment. (Not Alton Towers but I reckon they would have fun anyway)

They take D of E and it is a really laid back campsite. The details on here say that it is CCC members only but we stay there a lot and we are not members.

We were there last weekend and it is great.
