If you'd be prepared to drive just over two hours then Manorafon Farm at Abergele would tick your boxes. Set in the estate grounds of an old castle it has a rural look and feel but is only ten minutes walk from the town which has shops, four pubs and a Tesco open until midnight. Good clean facilities on site and ehu - it's one of my favourites.
Another suggestion would be Golden Sunset camping fields at Benllech on Anglesey - great views from most parts of the site and only five minutes walk into the village with it's shops, take-aways and three pubs. It may be a bit far for you though as it's about three hours from Sheffield.

There's loads of campsites dotted around the Uk within 10mins walking distance from local village pubs, maybe not so many close to larger towns.
The site finder on here has an option for facilities close by.
Back in the day when it was just wife and me, it used to be a requirement for us as well. We went quite a few times to Hillcroft at Pooley Bridge, Ullswater in lake district. Think there's a couple of other sites within walking distance of the village also.
I can also give a thumbs up for the Black Bull at Pickering, campsite is behind the pub, with another one over the road! About 1 mile approx into Pickering centre though.
------------- I went to the top of the mountain...and looked over the other side!

You can also walk to Thornton Le Dale

Prospect Farm Campsite is right in the village. The pub across the road (forget the name) does very nice meals. The site is small, but perfectly formed!

Just what I was thinking. Thornton le Dale. Small site behind garage right in heart of this lovely Yorkshire village. Has couple of pubs, coffee shops.
There is a campsite at Hulme End near Hartington in Derbyshire it is quite rural but from what I can remember there is a pub just across the road. There is also a campsite at Barlow near Dronfield might be worth looking to see if that is is within walking distance to a pub.
The campsite at Hartington is called Bank House Farm and is adjacent to a pub, the area is beautiful by the way.
The link below is for Lime Tree Park which is a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Buxton. It's a cracking site and the nearest pub (The Cheshire Cheese) is great.
Too far from Sheffield for a weekend (4 hour drive), but all three Council-run sites in Dumfries & Galloway are at the edge of town parks. Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas and Lochmaben (where the site's called Kirk Loch). Some campers don't like this set-up because it means locals strolling beside the site, but it's never bothered us. Kirkcudbright is the Artists Town (always has something going on), Castle Douglas is the Food Town (Sulwath Brewery, interesting shops), Lochmaben (near Lockerbie) is small but does have pubs in walking distance and it's closest to the M74. It would make a good week away, a couple of days at each one. Any holiday resort town has non-Butlin sites round the edge, you can walk/ cycle / bus into town - St Andrews, Portpatrick, Aviemore... Smashing site at the edge of Chester by the canal. But sorry! I can't help with Sheffield area.

To be fair, if you're searching for campsites in a National Park, they are going to be rural. My recommendations aren't much use unless you're prepared to come a long way south but we've mostly camped on the edge of towns / villages and a couple with a decent bar on site.
Hi there
My husband and I look for the same things as you, somewhere within a short walking distance.
We love Hopley's Family Camping in Bewdley, great site, nice stroll into the town, and you could walk back, but after a few drinks we usually opt for a taxi back, only a fiver.
Newlands Meadows is near Great Malvern, lovely looking pub a stones throw away.
Our last trip, we went to Foxholes Castle Campsite in Shropshire. Ten minutes walk to Bishop's Castle, where there are six pubs, all well reviewed.
Don't give up, you will find what you are looking for and have a great time. I spend hours researching where we will go and love the planning aspect. We have a list of what we want from a site, I love trawling through reviews and websites, adding them to our virtual brochure finding places we will love. We haven't gone wrong yet!
The other thing I would suggest is finding a place where you can have a camp fire. The flames and the stars, who needs a pub?
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
