Hi campers
I'm looking to go away for any week in September to a static caravan for around £150.
There will be 2 adults, 2 children (aged 4 months and 2 years) and a dog.
Any ideas anyone?

depends on where you want to go but look on facebook - lots advertise their privately owned caravans on there. However, make sure its genuine there have also been some scamming people.
in Dawlish Warren. Not caravans but chalets. Cheap and basic but nice area. We have been going off and on in October half term for quite a long time now - the kids are grown up and married and book their own chalets now.

Homebird - That looks perfect, but I've just realised that it would be a 5 hour journey each way. Not recommended with a 2 year old and a 4 month old, but it's great advise and you've opened my eyes to the idea of a chalet.

Marc, we went down to Sheppey twice last year, and it was a decnt static. Plenty of walks in the area, but can be a drive to a decent pub. Also a 5 hour run from sunny Shuddersfield.

A bit off topic, but I booked two chalets at Hazelwood for the beginning of July for a family holiday with my sisters. Unfortunately, one of them was diagnosed with a terminal illness one week before we were to go. Hazelwood do a £15 per chalet cancellation insurance (their own rather than an insurance company) which I had taken out. They were very helpful and the total cost (less the cancellation insurance) was returned to my bank quickly and courteously. I will definitely book there again when I am able to get away.
