Does anyone know of any campsites where you get the pitch to yourself (as opposed to sharing a field with others), *and* campfires are allowed? Im based in London so somewhere down south would be good.
If not, does anyone know of a site which lists campsites with "secluded camping pitches"? Im not sure if thats the right word for it. Ive found websites which lists campfires so was hoping I could cross reference the two lists.

Ah the above explains it. I can't think of any campsites I have been to with totally secluded pitches but there are obviously some around. Isn't that what windbreaks are for?
We have just returned from Forgewood campsite (sorry cant link as on tablet) near Tunbridge Wells, they allow campfires. Although they do not have set pitches we had loads of space around us and they don't seem to book out the entre site. There are also loads of pitches in the woods that are secluded if you are happy to pitch in the woods.
Your wanting a campfire will be the deal-breaker. Not all sites allow them, woodland ones especially tend to forbid them as leaf litter is so flammable. Suggest you first search the UKCS list first for sites that allow them, then check the suggestions for specific sites already given. Can't help though - the ones that fit the bill are in Dumfries & Galloway, too far away for you.
Tobacconists Farm, Minchinhampton, near Stroud, Glos. Ask for one of the pitches on the right hand side that has a raised border around it. It gives you a nice private pitch with a good bit of separation from your neighbour. The owner will also bring you a firepit and logs.
Evergreen Farm Woodland Campsite, near East Grinstead. Surprisingly remote and rural feel, huge pitches (we had 9 tents on ours as we were a large group, two of which were big tunnel tents) set in well-separated woodland glades, each one with a fire pit. Very friendly welcome and they were happy to freeze ice blocks for us overnight and bring them back to us next morning.
There are a couple of quirks though.... No running water on site, so there are (beautifully clean) composting toilets and no showers. An ample supply of water is delivered to your pitch every morning by quad bike. The fire was very useful to generate a supply of hot water for washing up. There is no access to the pitches by car, so you leave you car near the entrance and you and all your gear are transported to your pitch by the aforementioned quad bike and trailer. Great fun, until you have to strike camp in the pouring rain as we did and try to keep everything dry under a groundsheet.
A really lovely, quiet, back to basics site, within about an hour's drive from South London.
